Our Willow Run wallet is crafted with buttery soft, upcycled automotive steering wheel leather. It’s not only durable, it takes on a magnificent patina with use and age. Much like the Greatest Generation, who inspired it.

Our minimalist take on a classic style tri-fold wallet includes three card slots that each hold 4-5 cards. Suede lined cash pouch. Hand edge painted and embossed with the Pingree Detroit logo for a wallet as dynamic as the place it was named after.

Why the Name: The "Willow Run" Airport story

Some say Willow Run won the war. During World War II, few accomplished what the Willow Run factory in Ypsilanti, Michigan was able to do in such a short and critical time. Albert Kahn designed the first bomber assembly plant of its kind, which was built by the Ford Motor Company in 1940. Nearly 8,700 B-24 Liberator airplanes were made here, one every 63 minutes. And during its peak production, Willow Run (aka the Arsenal of Democracy) employed 42,000 people including "Rosie the Riveter.” In fact, one third of the workforce was female!

Trifold wallet is great - wish it came in more colors.

My partner loves her trifold wallet. The only critique is that she wishes that it was a more interesting color than black, but hey! Some of us still carry cash so that’s what this baby is good for.

Decent wallet, craftsmanship questionable?

While I like the wallet material and design, the actually cut of the leather looks kind of odd with a small upturn on the corner.

Very good wallet

This wallet fits into narrow pockets very well. The wallet appears to be well made, and it didn't smell (as some of the ones you see on Amazon sometimes do). That said, it's important to note that the wallet takes a week or two to stretch. Initially it will not close well while lying flat--give it some time, carry it in a back pocket, and soon it will close normally.
