From getting up to a 50% commission on profits to help us expand the number of hotels carrying our coasters made from recycled cork and upcycled leather, to connecting with corporate partners to make them cross-branded or white label goods for their employees, partners, or customers, to being the 5th member of our weekend street team and market research teams to help staff the 250+ pop-ups and live shoe-making events we are slated to do in 2023; we are looking for a future co–owner of our company to lead and grow our sales teams.
Pay: A blend of hourly with up to 50% commission on profits. Expect $16-$50+ hourly after commission.
Benefits: Eligible to co-own our company after 1 year which correlates with 77% of profits of the company going to worker-owners. Insurance stipend, PTO, and Paid sick days for full-time.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Pingree Mfg L3C (Pingree Detroit) - founded in 2015, is a worker-owned design and sustainable manufacturing cooperative based in Detroit. Veterans and Detroiters on our team hand-craft sustainable, unique pieces made with upcycled leather, air bag material, and seat belts from the Detroit auto industry including the first sneakers ever made in Detroit, coasters, bags, dog leashes, and home goods recently featured on ABC World News Tonight. Relationships are our strongest currency and we are looking for passionate people who want to be part of our sales and marketing team to get our solutions into the hands of new and existing customers. On Saturdays and Sundays you’ll work at our pop-ups at Eastern Market, our store in Ferndale, or other locations across Michigan doing market research on new products and prototypes, building our newsletter subscribers, and meeting sales goals for the day.
Must be available to work the majority of Saturdays (7am-3pm) and Sundays (8am-4pm) and have reliable transportation.

Essential Functions

- Have passion for making neighborhoods stronger and more self sufficient
- Be on time and able to pick up, load merchandise, set up, maintain and breakdown each event while adhering visual standards per Pingree Detroit’s specification
- Your own transportation is required
- Be alert, approachable and authentic with prospective customers at in-person events
- Maintain proficient knowledge of all Pingree Detroit’s products, prices, and our history
- Record inventory, count cash bank before and after each event
- Maintain professional attitude with sincerity and enthusiasm
- Build relationships with customers
- Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs
- Basic math skills required; ability to use a calculator.
- Responsible for taking care of products. Bring back in the same condition as you received them.
- Flexible availability
- Attending weekly 20 min wins and goals calls with our CMO

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to stand for long periods of time; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift tables and/or move up to 10-30 pounds in tent weights and merchandise. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Travel
Travel is only required to and from workshop to event space. Drivers license and vehicle required. Mileage reimbursed at .59 cents/mile when transporting products from the workshop to and from events.
Preferred Education and Experience
- High School Diploma.
- Retail/Sales experience preferred
- Marketing experience preferred
