GRACE LEE BOGGS: Our inspiration for the name of this bag.

Grace Lee Boggs – (1915-2015) Was a Detroiter, author, activist, and visionary community based leader who invites us to reimagine work and what it means to be a human being at this time on the clock of the world. Grace Lee Boggs was one of the organizers who helped bring about Detroit’s 1963 March for Freedom with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Our co-founder Jarret was lucky enough to call her a neighbor on Field street for several years and Pingree developed strong roots and was able to grow thanks to the support of the James and Grace Lee Boggs Center to nurture community based leadership.
